The Executive Director of ALLMemphis reached out to Kifani Press hoping to complete a series of books, decodable readers and resources for a diverse group of kids and classrooms. In collaboration with ALLMemphis, my sister and I created full-length decodable books that accompany over 150 decodable readers and supplemental materials. All items were edited and branded to meet specific requirements of their curriculum.

I managed the layout, editing and illustrating, for 150 decodable readers for K-2 and 30 intervention readers for 3-6. The layout was designed to be clear and engaging for young readers, with a playful and youthful flair. My sister wrote and edited the text for accuracy and consistency, ensuring it was appropriate for the target age groups. I created illustrations that complemented the text and helped with comprehension. This comprehensive approach ensured the materials were both educational and appealing.
In addition to the books, readers and supplemental materials, I also illustrated over 200 colorful images for the phonological awareness flashcard decks. These images capture the essence of the vocabulary and sight words found in their decodable readers and books, providing visual cues that enhance learning and engagement.
