I serve as Creative Director and Illustrator for all design-related aspects of the Shelby County A to Z project.
This includes the book, educational resources and promotional pieces, along with the website.
Every kindergarten student in Shelby County has received a free copy of the book!
The Shelby County Youth and Education Nonprofit Committee brought together nonprofits across varied sectors to share concerns and draw attention to issues that are barriers to residents’ success. They collectively identified major issues per sector, such as low literacy levels, and identified ways to address part of a systemic problem.
They decided to create a children's book and educational resources for ages 2-6.

My sister and I were approached about this project as we've published several books and reading comprehension materials. We pitched our ideas and worked with the committee to bring their vision to life!
I designed supplemental materials such as alphabet tiles and flashcards to support learning and provide additional practice. Teachers and parents can download from the website.
